How To Become a Computer Technician
So you want to be a Computer Technician, but you don't know how? Well guess what, I am going to tell you how.
First things first, I am blunt and to the point. I hate typing and thinking about grammar, that is why I went into the Technology field.
I have over 10 years experience in web design, computer networking, hardware, software, java programming, Apple & IBM (pc) format computers, telephone work, home theatres etc, etc, etc, & I make a lot of money doing. So basically I know what I am talking about & I am going to give you some advice that took me 10 long, hard years to learn.
1. MOST IMPORTANT: LEARN how to find the right answers. This can be true for ANY field, ANY person works in. You do not need to know everything, and guess what, if you spent the next 10 years reading, going to school & obtaining certifications, you still wouldn't know all there is to know in the field of Technology. But if you can figure out what resources will help you find a solution for you the fastest, then you are on your way.
2. Go to school and/or get certifications. Of course you need to learn about computers, software, hardware etc to become a computer technician. Find something that fits you, something that makes you excited to go. 4 year schools are not for every one, so make sure they are right for you if you choose to go. In my 4 years in college the only thing I learned to do is program at Level II in Java (a blind monkey could program at that level) and drink a lot of beer. 2 year schools are good because the get straight to the point about the actual jobs you will be doing out in the REAL world. (I was offered a teaching position at one of these 2 year schools at the ripe old age of 25, I laughed in their face & said no because of the salary they were offering). Certifications are important regardless if you get a 2 or 4 year degree. They tell other people that have NO CLUE about technology that you, indeed have a clue about technology
Did you follow that?
A couple of certifications that I highly recommend are the A+, Networking + and any Microsoft Support Certification.
3. Be patient, with yourself and the people you work with. You will always be learning if you become a computer technician. The average lifespan for a particular model of technology (ie computers) is about 2 years. Meaning as soon as you buy it, it is OLD. Things change everyday in Technology and you have to keep up with it!
4. Have a Positive Attitude! Remember, when people call you or you are dispatched out to work on someone's computer, TV etc, they usually are frustrated. Most people will try to fix the issue themselves before calling anyone because they are cheap. By the time you or I get there they are ready to cry. A positive and friendly attitude will go an EXTREMELY LONG WAY. You will be their savior and they will tell all their friends about you. This point might be the most difficult, especially in Technology because not very many people understand how it works and because our lives are so dependent on it.
That is it, 4 simple steps.
Can you handle it?
These are the 4 things I have tried to do over the last 10 years. Trust me, I am no genius, not by a long shot. But I figured out how to find the right answer for the problem, combined with an education, some certifications and the right attitude, I have people knocking down my door for my services.
Read this article a couple of times until this info really sinks in. This advice works so use it!
Stop sitting there and get busy!

How to Learn Computer Programming Fast
Computer programming is not for everyone, working with computers constantly is hard work not physical work but very much mental. The drawbacks of working with computer are you cannot really work outside, tired eye and some days I personally cannot go near my computer. In saying that I love working with computers. My first computer was a commador 64bit and since then technology has integrated into nearly everything in modern life.
One huge lie is that you need a college degree to work as a computer programmer.
Computer Programming has well paid jobs anywhere in the world, if you feel up to the task of learning a useful new skill. It is possible that you can learn computer programming in under 4 weeks if devoted enough.
I find it hard to dedicate oneself to learning no matter what age, but I believe with the right motivation anyone can learn to do anything, and start a new career in one of the fastest growing sectors in the world. You can learn from experts worldwide and learn what you need to know for the high paying Programming jobs. The first time I looked at computer code and languages I was totally confused, but I learned the computer languages and after practice to code quicker.
You can learn databases and software to become a programming. Pick the best computer languages for you to use. Information, techniques and hands on experience will lower your learning curve, increase your chances of a job, where to find jobs with these new found skills and lower your learning time dramatically.
I believe the best way to learn anything is to have a study plan which allows you to use your time more efficiently as if you have children and work. That's why I like home learning you can take you time no rush learn the way that best suits you. You can learn all the skills of the computer programming that are required for the higher paying contract work.

Types of Computer Programming Languages
We learnt in the previous class about what a computer program and programming means.
We thus know that we need a language to be able to "talk" or communicate with a computer. There are three basic types of programming languages. A computer can however understand ONLY Machine Language directly. The earliest computer programs were written in machine language.
Machine Language: is expressed in binary using only 0 and 1.
Advantages:
Directly understandable by the computer Processing and results were extremely fast
Disadvantages:
Being represented in Binary form, the codes were was very difficult to learn and understand by humans All the data and instructions had to be manually transcribed into Machine Language (Binary Form) and all results had to be decoded from Machine Language to Human Readable form Coding and Decoding took a long time Length of the program used to be immense and subsequently resulted in errors
Assembly Language: this language applied the use of Mnemonics (human memory aids) with restricted use of Machine Language. These aids came in the form of abbreviations for standard repeated functions such as AD or ADD for addition, SUB for subtraction, HLT for halting or stoping the program, etc. It also started the use of Octal or Hexadecimal codes as short hands for Binary codes.
Advantages:
Easier code as compared to binary (Machine Language) Shorter programs
Disadvantages:
Lack of uniformity: Abbreviations used by Assembly Language differed from machine to machine. Thus, each assembly language code was restricted to a particular machine and required a Translator to convert it to a machine usable form
High Level Language (HLL): transcribe programs as "statements" using limited vocabulary from English. Examples of High Level Languages are - BASIC, PASCAL, FORTRAN, COBOL, ALGOL, CORAL-66, FORTH, etc. Infact, what we use today as programming languages are all examples of High Level Languages.
Advantages:
Uniformity achieved: overrides the deficiency of machine dependent code Use of English with proper syntax made it easier to write programs Programs written in High Level Languages are much shorter, versatile and faster to work with and debug
We come to the end of our today's lesson. Next we take a quick look into a few more basic but important concepts that help understanding the concept of programming such as translators, algorithms, flowcharts, etc before we take to writing computer programs!

Mathematics in Computer Programming
Mathematics is applicable in various traditional fields of engineering: mechanical and electrical engineering are among them. Mathematics is used in computer engineering too.
Mathematical logic is used in the decision making, so it is used in computer programming. As Venn diagrams are helpful in understanding the concepts of logic, they are also helpful in the programming. For instance, De Morgan's laws are used in writing statements involving decisions and Venn diagrams are helpful in understanding these laws.
Programming
Calculations are also important in the science of computers. The text you read on the computer screen is presented in a particular format. Calculations are certainly needed for these.
Geometry is used in the development of graphics. Actually a graphics screen resembles the co-ordinate plane. Just as we have points in the co-ordinate plane, we have pixels on the graphics screen. Though there are endlessly many points in any bounded part of the plane, while the number of pixels on the graphics screen is limited, yet the techniques of coordinate geometry can be used in drawing various figures on the graphics screen.
Various transformations play a part in the development of software. Two such transformations are famous as 'pop and push transformations'. As the graphs are useful in understanding different kinds of transformations, these help understand, in particular the Pop and Push transformations too.
The classical computer programming language namely 'the C language' makes a lot of use of mathematics. Different graphics commands of this language are based on the mathematical logic. The commands for making the background make use of hexadecimal numbers.
